Mistakes prove costly for Harper

What was expected to be a matchup of ranked teams never quite materialized at Harper College on Wednesday afternoon, thanks to the Hawks falling out of this week's NJCAA poll.

But No. 8-ranked Triton was evidently not feeling sorry for the Hawks, as the Trojans took a 3-0 win back to River Grove.

Harper dropped to 4-5 overal and 4-4 in North Central Community College Conference play.

Freshman goalkeeper Andre Larson (Elk Grove) watch a defensive miscue lead to an easy goal by Martyn Garciduenas to put Triton up 1-0.

Later in the first half Arnie Rodriguez (Leyden) scored to put the Trojans up 2-0 on yet another Hawks mistake. Rafal Mosior put the icing on the cake as he scored the final goal.

"We did not play as well as I would have liked in the first half." said Harper coach Jason Diebold. "In the second half, we played the way I expected."
