Toastmasters to meet

Stories at Peck Farm Park
Enjoy a night of songs, skits and stories by Andy Talley at the grand opening of George's Circle from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 at Peck Farm Park, 38W199 Kaneville Road, in Geneva. Reservations are required. Cost is $20 for resident families, $30 for others. The circle is an amphitheater built from stone from a barn on the site. Dogs walk for charity

Job seeker boot camp
Looking to get job skills, fast? Short-term training for job skills that will result in near immediate employment or to prepare for a better job is the purpose of "Boot Camp," an Elgin Community College program. Classes include medical coding, medical billing, pharmacy technician, "green" technology training, wedding planning, dialysis technician and home inspection training. Library lot closed
The parking lots at the Messenger Public Library in North Aurora are under construction during the month of August to add 16 spaces. Parking is available next door at the New Hope Lutheran Church, just west of the library on Oak Street. The work is due to be finished Sept. 3.
