Elgin 6, Lake Park 5: The Maroons notched their second win of the season on Cory Michalik's game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh. Tom Roth (2-4) struck out 7 in a complete-game performance for Elgin (2-26, 2-21).
St. Charles North 16, South Elgin 5: Brandon Stevens homered for the second straight game and Charlie Sabo went 2-for-2 with a home run in an Upstate Eight home loss for the Storm. South Elgin (15-13-1, 12-10-1) committed 5 errors.
Waubonsie Valley 14, Larkin 3: Joe Stace went 3-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI and Scott Harm and Jon Meidel each finished 2-for-3 with an extra basehit in a six-inning Upstate Eight loss in Aurora for the Royals (17-16, 12-10).
St. Charles East 2, Streamwood 1: The Sabres (16-13, 14-9) scored once in the top of the sixth inning to halve the Saints' lead but dropped this Upstate Eight Conference loss in St. Charles.
Cary-Grove 12, Jacobs 0: Army-bound senior Corey Bruns no-hit the Golden Eagles and struck out nine in a five-inning Fox Valley Conference (Valley) contest in Algonquin. Chris Waylock, Matt Nelsen and Mark Thomson hit home runs for Cary-Grove (24-7-1, 11-2). Henry Gigeous (0-1) took the loss for Jacobs (13-20, 5-8).
Woodstock 11, Dundee-Crown 5: Willy Larsen had a hit and 2 RBI, and Jake Romano went 2-for-4 and drove in a run in a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division loss for the Chargers (6-21, 3-10). Bill Peterson allowed only 1 earned run in 5 innings, but the D-C defense made 6 errors.
Burlington Central 11, Sandwich 0: Dave Hartwell (4-2) struck out nine, and Nick Hahn, Tanner Scott and Zack Romando homered in a five-inning nonconference road win for the Rockets (19-6).
Montini 4, Westminster Christian 1: Brandon Siewert struck out four without a walk in 31/3 innings and doubled at the plate in this nonconference loss in Lombard. Ryan Perez went 2-for-3 for Westminster (25-8).
