Beginning Stained Glass: 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, Suevel Studios Inc., 1021 S. Arlington Heights Road. Students, new to the craft, learn the basics of the copper foil technique which includes cutting, foiling and soldering. Students have the option of using the studios tools during their first 5 week class. Students will select their own glass which is not provided in the cost of the class. Glass for the window panel generally runs around $30-$50. Ages 14 and up. Fee is $65.

Jaycees Hometown Fest: Noon-6 p.m. Saturday July 4; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday July 5, Hometown Fest at Community Park, on Palatine Road and Northwest Highway, Palatine. A limited number of booths are still available. Exhibitors will be assigned a 12-foot by 12-foot space on a first-come, first-serve basis. An arts and crafts booth will cost $60 for both days. A business expo booth will cost $150 for both days. A charity expo booth will be free to charitable organizations. Applications for all booths are available at palatinejaycees.org/fourthofjuly/.
