Rolling Meadows Garden Club, “Seed Saving Made Simple”: 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Rolling Meadows Community Center, 3705 Pheasant Drive, Rolling Meadows. A Master gardener will discuss how to collect high quality seed from your garden, going over techniques, open pollination, variety isolation, harvesting and seed storage. Lombard Garden Club, “Monarch Butterflies and Pollinators”: 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 16, at Helen Plum Library, 411 S. Main St., Lombard. Lonnie Morris, coordinator of the DuPage Monarch Project, will discuss ways everyone can help monarchs and endangered pollinators thrive and survive. After 20 years of steep declines in the number of monarch butterflies, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is working to list monarch butterflies as a threatened species. No charge; public is welcome. Garden walks
Lisle Woman’s Club 23rd annual Garden Gait: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, June 8. Starts at the Museums at Lisle Station Park, 921 School St., Lisle. Five gardens throughout Lisle are featured, along with a local Lisle park that is host to many varieties of plants. Advance tickets are $20; day of tickets are $25. Also featured will be more than 30 vendors and raffle baskets highlighting local restaurants, The Morton Arboretum and other themes. Proceeds benefit local charities and high school scholarships.
Arlington Heights Garden Club Garden Walk and Unique Boutique: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 22. Pick up wrist bands and get directions at Arlington Heights Historical Museum grounds, 110 W. Fremont St. Tour private homes and institutional gardens throughout Arlington Heights. Tickets available now at www.ahgardenclub.com/gw-ub. Tickets can also be purchased at our plant sale on June 7, at the AH Farmers Market on June 14 & 21, and at Village Bank and Trust in Arlington Heights. Tickets are $15 before the walk and $20 day of walk. Unique boutique is free to shop on the grounds of the museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors will feature items for home and gardens. Grow Wellness Foundation’s Petals, Ponds and Pathways garden walk: 3-7 p.m., Thursday, June 26, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, June 27, in Naperville. Presented by Grow Wellness Foundation and Aquascape, the self-guided tour features six private gardens. Tickets, valid for both days, are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event. Proceeds benefit mental wellness efforts by improving access to mental wellness care in Naperville.
McHenry Garden Walk 2025: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, July 12, beginning at the Demonstration Garden at McHenry Community College, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Presented by the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners and McHenry County College, the self-guided walk offers a day of eight gorgeous gardens, education and fun. Two gardens are demonstration gardens and six are residential gardens in Crystal Lake, Woodstock, Lake in the Hills, McHenry and Bull Valley. Master gardeners at each site will answer questions. Advanced tickets, $15, may be purchased through June 26 at www.mchenry.edu/gardenwalk. All tickets must be picked up the day of the walk. Tickets may be purchased day of for $20 at the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden at MCC — Parking Lot C. No ticket sales Friday, June 27, through Friday, July 11. The event will be held rain or shine. No pets are allowed.
Grayslake Greenery Garden Club garden walk: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 12. Eight residential gardens, plus a bonus garden, all in Grayslake, will be featured on the self-guided tour. Expert advice at the bonus garden available at Ask a Master Gardener. Tickets are $10 available at www.grayslakegardenclub.org/garden-walk or at the Grayslake Farmers Market inn July, or on the day of the event at Centennial Plaza at Whitney and Center streets.
