Costume contest kicks off Warrenville Park District Fall Fest Oct. 27

The Warrenville Park District is gearing up for a howling good time with its annual Fall Fest from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 at the Recreation Center, 3S260 Warren Avenue in Warrenville. This event is a great way for families to enjoy the season in a safe environment and will feature a fantastic lineup of activities for all ages. Plenty of free parking will be available.

Fall Fest kicks off with a costume contest promptly at 6 p.m. for little ghosts and goblins along the sidewalk of Warren Avenue in front of the Recreation Center. Prizes will be awarded by age group.

Participants can purchase $5 wristbands good for unlimited play in the games and inflatable areas, a petting zoo, crafts, and a character meet & greet with Woody and Buzz Lightyear from "Toy Story."

You can avoid the lines and pre-purchase your wristbands beginning Oct. 1. Wristbands can be purchased at the lower level guest services desk from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or the upper level fitness guest services desk from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Activities will be spread out throughout the Recreation Center and Community Building to minimize crowding.

The entertainment and food tent is always a big hit with live music by Alpine Thunder.

The concession area grill will be fired up and selling brats and hotdogs along with chips and beverages for families to eat outside under the stars or in the tent while enjoying the music. Numark Credit Union will provide the event's sweet spot with free Taffy Apples.

"Throughout the event kids will enjoy the costume contest, carnival games, a petting zoo, and more," said Sheri Potter, Warrenville Park District marketing & community engagement manager. "The food and entertainment tent provides great music while you enjoy freshly grilled food."

Fall Fest is sponsored by the Warrenville Park District, City of Warrenville, Planned Financial Independence Co., and NuMark Credit Union. Project is sponsored in part by the City of Warrenville Hotel Tax Fund.
