'Making Music Work' exciting Music Resource Center course at Barrington Park District
The Barrington Park District is proud to announce the launch of its latest course, the Music Resource Center, Making Music Work. This innovative program is designed for ages 12 and up, any skill level and offers classes in both music production and music business. Residents from all local communities are welcome.
The Music Resource Center is a unique opportunity for music lovers of all levels to learn from industry veteran Record Producer/Engineer Chris Steinmetz. With over 25 years of experience in the music industry, Steinmetz is a master at music production and has worked with some of the biggest names in the business; artists ranging from Miles Davis to Metallica, Kanye West, Paul Simon, Kiss, Rihanna and more. He is also the owner of Stonecutter Records Recording Studios.
Participants in the Music Resource Center will learn the ins and outs of music production, from recording and editing to mixing and mastering. They will also have the opportunity to explore the music business side of the industry, including marketing, promotion, and distribution strategies.
"I grew up in Barrington and am thrilled to offer this exciting new program to our community," said Steinmetz. "Whether you're an aspiring musician, producer, entrepreneur or just looking to learn something new, the Music Resource Center has something for everyone."
The Music Resource Center will run from Sept. 9 to Dec. 5, and will be held at the Barrington Park District. Registration is still open, interested participants are encouraged to sign up. Course fee will be adjusted for missed classes to date.
