Wheaton's Gary UMC offers midweek Lenten study starting March 1

Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton is offering a Lenten study on "Entering the Passion of Jesus: A Beginner's Guide to Holy Week" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 1-22.

The 2018 book by biblical scholar Amy-Jill Levine takes you from Palm Sunday to Good Friday, helping you discover new meanings and challenges in the scriptures that impact our lives.

The Rev. Daniel Cochran will facilitate the study. Books are available through the church office for $12.

The church is also hosting "Soup Supper" each Wednesday in Lent, starting at 5 p.m. Sign up at garychurch.org/registrations.

The church offers 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday worship in the sanctuary at 224 N. Main St.

The 9 a.m. service is complete with Kids' Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org. The 11 a.m. Service of Word & Sacrament is an intimate and informal service. At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called "Special Blend" and Sunday school for all ages.
