Lexington Homes Opens Two Decorated Luxury Single-Family Home Models at Parkside of Glenview

Chicago-based Lexington Homes has opened two decorated models at Parkside of Glenview, a new community of 29 single-family homes in north-suburban Glenview, Ill. All homes at the maintenance-free community include first-floor primary suites.

The maintenance-free community, located near the intersection of Willow and Landwehr roads, offers four floor plans, including three designs with a two-story layout and one ranch plan. Each home offers a choice of exterior architectural styles, including Craftsman, European, Farmhouse and Shingle. Base-priced from $894,990, homes measure 2,663 to 3,676 square feet and have three bedrooms, 2½ baths, a flex room, patio, basement and attached front-loading two-car garage. Select two-story plans also include a loft and study, and a fourth bedroom also can be added to each home.

"Even before opening the models we sold four homes, but now that buyers can experience the homes in person sales have really picked up, especially given the tight inventory for new-construction homes of this caliber in Glenview and all up and down the North Shore," said Jeff Benach, principal of Lexington Homes. "A key thing influencing our buyers right now is the desire for more space, given the pandemic and everyone spending more time at home. These models feel extremely spacious with their huge open-concept main living areas and that's really resonating with buyers when they first see the homes."

"While we certainly didn't design these homes for a pandemic, the models show just how well they live for this new normal as we continue to e-learn and work from home," added Benach. "Buyers like the multiple areas for setting up remote workspaces as all of our two-story designs have two dedicated areas conducive to a home office - one on each floor, which is great for privacy and noise levels when you're on a call or Zoom."

The two models show the two-story Burgundy and Sonoma floor plans, but because the Bordeaux ranch design is essentially identical to the first floor of the Burgundy plan, buyers can experience three of the community's four floor plans.

Showcasing a European architectural exterior, the Sonoma model measures 3,001 square feet and has three bedrooms, 2½ baths, a separate dining room, family room, den, loft and large, unfinished basement with rough-in plumbing. It is base-priced from $959,990.

A grand front porch with stone pillars and plenty of space for outdoor seating leads to a spacious foyer, which includes a large coat closet and powder room with decorative tile. Just off the entry is a den, which is shown as a home office with a coffered ceiling. Across from the den is a dining room that connects to kitchen via a large butler's pantry with built-in wine cooler and a walk-in storage pantry with shelving. Toward the back of the home is an expansive open-concept kitchen, breakfast nook and family room with a two-story gas fireplace. The kitchen features an oversized island, which can seat five to six people; white designer cabinetry with soft-close doors and drawers; Thermador, Bosch and Broan appliances (including a double oven and pot filler above cooktop); Kohler faucets; and quartz countertops.

Adjacent to the family room is the primary bedroom suite, which includes two walk-in closets and large spa-like bath with separate quartz-topped vanities; a soaking tub; oversized walk-in shower with three body jets, a rain shower, wall-mounted shower head and sitting bench; a water closet; and linen closet.

An open staircase with two-toned oak railings leads to the second floor, which includes two secondary bedrooms - one of which has a walk-in closet - a full hall bath and two closets. It also features a loft and adjacent flex room. "This space really wows our buyers for its ability to serve so many uses, whether as an area for children to play, a home office or remote learning spot, gaming/TV viewing area, or a quiet nook for reading," said Benach. "And, it's easily adaptable as a family's needs change over time."

The second model shows the Burgundy floor plan in the Shingle architectural style, and has three bedrooms, 2½ baths, a separate dining room, family room, den, loft and large, unfinished basement with rough-in plumbing. This home measures 3,535 square feet and is base-priced from $1,044,990. Buyers enter the model off a large stone porch that leads into the entry foyer, which features a coat closet and powder room. Off the entry is a den, which in the model is shown with French doors and a transom window.

A separate dining room with large butler's pantry leads to the kitchen, which has an oversized kitchen island; 1¼ -inch black granite countertops; two-toned wood cabinetry; Thermador, Bosch and Broan appliances; and Kohler faucets. The kitchen opens to both a breakfast nook that shows a built-in buffet and the family room, which has a modern two-story tile gas fireplace. Off the model's family room is an optional extended and covered patio.

Next to the family room is the primary bedroom suite, which features a large L-shaped walk-in closet and a spa bath with separate quartz-topped vanities; a soaking tub; large walk-in shower with handheld and wall-mounted jets, a Chevron tile surround and sitting bench; a private water closet; and linen closet.

The first floor also shows coveted features such as an additional coat closet off the attached two-car garage, as well as cubbies for organizing backpacks and sports gear. A large laundry room with utility sink and storage are conveniently located in this area as well.

Upstairs is an oversized loft and two secondary bedrooms with walk-in closets as well as a full hall bath. Buyers can opt to add a bonus room to this level.

Additional features that come with all homes at Parkside at Glenview are hardwood flooring in main first-floor living areas; ceramic tile and Kohler fixtures in baths; oak staircases and choice of railings; and full, unfinished deep-pour basements. Home exteriors feature architectural detailing like gabled rooflines and HardiePlank siding in modern tones of grays, blues and browns, along with stone and cedar trim.

A nominal monthly maintenance fee will cover snow removal, landscaping and yard maintenance, so residents can enjoy many of the community's nearby amenities, including The Glen, a 1,000-acre mixed-use site with shopping and dining; a grocery store; post office; medical facilities; office space; a Metra station; the Kohl's Children's Museum; and a number of recreational areas, including two golf courses.

Located just east of Interstate 294, Parkside of Glenview offers a convenient location for residents with proximity to many large employers in the north and northwest suburbs. The community is also near NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital and is served by the highly rated District 31 school district, as well as Glenbrook South High School.
