Cor Cantiamo to perform at Christ Church Oak Brook Jan. 26

On Sunday, Jan. 26, Cor Cantiamo will perform at 3 p.m. at Christ Church Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Road. The concert is free and open to the public.

Cor Cantiamo is a professional 24-voice touring choral ensemble, founded with the mission to perform and promote contemporary choral music and foster new composers for the art form.

Since their inception in 2009, the choir has emerged as an energetic and accomplished vocal ensemble, receiving accolades for their performances.

Led by Eric A. Johnson, D.M.A, president and founding artistic director, the ensemble consists of accomplished performers and has toured nationally and internationally with composers from around the world. The ensemble has recorded four CDs with an emphasis on contemporary works and collaboration with commissioned composers.

The group also spearheads an educational outreach program through its "Masterworks" workshop project, which is aimed at Chicago area high school choral students to help them refine their skills while promoting the creation, performance and appreciation of choral music in young singers.
