Golden Corridor Family YMCA names Douglas Britt as new president and CEO

The Golden Corridor Family YMCA recently announced that Doug Britt would serve as the new president and chief executive officer, effective Sept. 1. He will succeed Gary Bublitz, who has served as president and CEO for 18 years and will retire at the end of August, as previously announced.

Britt currently serves as chief executive officer of the Stateline Family YMCA in Beloit, Wis., a position he has held since 2011. He has more than 19 years of experience at the executive level in growing the YMCA's impact through program, membership, and community development. His leadership style encourages strong partnership with volunteers and staff, which helps to set a vision for the future.

Britt received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Wis. He served in multiple positions in the YMCA before coming to Stateline YMCA in 2011, including district executive at YMCA of Greater Louisville; executive director at Fry Family YMCA, Naperville; executive director at East Butler County YMCA, Hamilton, Ohio; executive director at Frank Berlin YMCA, Sarasota, Fla.; and vice president of operations at Alfred Campanelli YMCA in Schaumburg.

"We are privileged to welcome Doug Britt to our YMCA, and look forward to working with Doug to help grow the YMCA to the next level," stated John Regan, board chairman of the Golden Corridor Family YMCA.

Regan thanked the YMCA CEO Selection Committee for its hard work in conducting a nation-wide search for its new CEO, which began in May and included over 30 qualified candidates.
