Northwest Suburban Woman's Club to learn about robocalls

America's number one consumer complaint, unsolicited robocalls, will be the topic at the next meeting of the Northwest Suburban Woman's Club.

Representatives from the Citizens Utility Board will be on hand to discuss what Congress is doing to battle these unwanted calls, and what you can do in the meantime. One popular call-blocking app estimates consumers received nearly 53 billion annoying robocalls in 2018. That's a 47 percent increase from 2017.

The Northwest Suburban Woman's Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, in the Rasmussen Room on the second floor of the Schaumburg Library, 130 S. Roselle Road.

The civic and social-minded group encourages women of all ages and backgrounds to attend. The club will be collecting used books to be repurposed or recycled.

The robocall program will be presented from 7 to 7:30 p.m.
