Authors to discuss teen and middle grade books at Anderson's Bookshop
All ages are welcome to attend an author showcase with drawings, cookies and book signing from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 5, at Anderson's Book Shop, 123 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville. Signing will be preceded by brief presentations from Susan Miura, author of "Healer," and Patricia Karwatowicz, author of "H.P., Who's He?"
Miura will hold drawings for three gift baskets containing books, chocolate and gift cards from Anderson's and Adagio Teas during this free event. No registration is required to attend.
Miura's newest novel, "Healer," was released earlier this year by Vinspire Publishing. In "Healer," 17-year-old Shilo Giannelli discovers that hovering just below the surface of her average existence lies an amazing spiritual gift. When she heals an abused toddler, she discovers that, just like her Sicilian great-grandmother, she possesses the spiritual gift of healing. It isn't long before Shilo finds herself dodging a gang, losing her boyfriend, and fighting to protect the people she loves. A book trailer is available to watch at on YouTube or by searching "Healer, Susan Miura."
Karwatowicz's middle grade novel, H.P., Who's He? features 12-year-old H.P., who's just moved from California to Illinois and is juggling more issues than he can stand. His beloved grandfather has died, his parents have split up, he's living in a new town and getting bullied at school. Young readers will find out how he battles his problems by launching the Knights of the Lunch Table.
Both books are available to purchase from Anderson's Book Shop's Naperville store, as well as online from www.andersonsbookshop.com, amazon.com, and other booksellers.
