Pioneer Center's Me Program to host grand reopening Oct. 30

The Pioneer Center for Human Services has transformed and updated its Me Program for individuals with developmental disabilities to have a greater focus on community inclusion. Stop by its grand reopening at noon Monday, Oct. 30, with a Woodstock Chamber ribbon cutting, at 101 S. Jefferson St., Woodstock.

Over the last several months, the program underwent a metamorphosis as it transitioned to be more community-centric and client-driven in its goals. The Me Program is now a highly self-driven, community-based program, conveniently located near the Woodstock Square that provides in-house and community-based opportunities. It provides programming to people with developmental disabilities who wish to enrich their lives, work on life goals chosen by themselves, and become more active in their community.

"We are very grateful for the continued support of the McHenry County Mental Health Board who helped make this transition possible," said Sam Tenuto, co-CEO of Pioneer Center. "Their consistent support and passion for developmental disability programs in our community allows us to always strive to provide the best options for the people we serve."
