Oct. 21: The Ultimate Chicago Concert Experience at CLC's James Lumber Center

Beginnings: The Ultimate Chicago Concert Experience is a concert tailor-made for hard-core as well as new fans of the classic horn-infused sounds of the band Chicago. This concert experience comes to the Mainstage Theatre of the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 as part of the 21st Professional Touring Series.

Beginnings: The Ultimate Chicago Concert Experience was born in 2002 out of love and respect for the music of one of the greatest American rock bands of all time - and 2016 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee - Chicago.

"Chicago stands as one of America's most successful rock bands of any epoch in terms of both sales and longevity," according to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame website. "Over a 46-year recording career, the band has issued 36 albums, sold well over 100 million records, and released 20 Top 10 pop and 22 Top 10 adult contemporary singles (15 of which broke the Top 10 on both charts). It achieved the enviable feat of placing these hits on the Billboard charts in five different decades. Seventeen of its first 20 albums were certified platinum, nine of those multi-platinum and Chicago 17 hit platinum a whopping six times."

Forged together by a group of eight professional musicians, all veterans of the New York music scene, Beginnings, like Chicago, is a labor of love based on musicianship and professionalism. Paying homage to a songbook spanning nearly 50 years, an outstanding roster of accomplished musicians and multiple lead vocalists will take the audience on a musical odyssey, recreating the timeless classics that defined generations. Their performances bring to life the music of Chicago, and exceptionally recreate every decade of the band's hits. This family-friendly tribute will appeal to music lovers of all ages.

Beginnings has entertained at venues such as Walt Disney's EPCOT Center, Bally's Atlantic City Resort Casino, The M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas, The Golden Nugget Atlantic City Resort and Casino, The Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino, Caesar's Poconos Resorts, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Raceway, The Savannah Center and many more.
