Kids can win a free bike, helmet at Children's Health & Safety Fair
On Tuesday, July 26, take your kids to the Children's Health & Safety Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake. Kids will not only have fun and learn about health and safety, they'll receive school supplies. Low-cost school physical appointments, dental exams and vaccines also will be available. Admission to the fair is free.
More than 40 fun, educational health and safety exhibitors are participating. Children will be given a participation card - after filling it with stamps at different booths, they can turn it in for a free school supply box and be entered in a raffle for winning a new bike and helmet.
School physical appointments for uninsured or underinsured can be made now by calling (779) 220-9300. Dental exams will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. On the day of the fair, walk-in low cost vaccinations for eligible children will be offered at the McHenry County Department of Health Crystal Lake location, 100 N. Virginia St. Eligible children are those with no insurance, children whose insurance doesn't cover vaccinations or Illinois All Kids and Medicaid insurance. For vaccinations, parents must provide their child's updated shot record.
