MCC to host woodwinds concert Sunday

McHenry County College will feature the woodwind quintet Winds Off the Lake during the popular Second Sunday Concert on March 12 in the Luecht Conference Center, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake. Note, the concert will be held at 5 p.m., instead of the usual 3 p.m. start.

Winds Off the Lake is returning to MCC for its 21st Second Sunday concert featuring the sounds of flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon. The concert will feature works by Rossini, Cambini, DeFalla, Hindemith, Gould and Vaughan Williams.

Featured musicians are Sue Childress on flute, Lori Sutherland on clarinet, Kathy Krepel on oboe, Randy Sundell on bassoon, and Russ Henning on French horn.

Winds Off the Lake has performed at many venues, including the Art Institute of Chicago, Millennial Park, cable television, and regularly plays for church cantatas, weddings and private functions.
