Retired teachers help Marengo students

The McHenry County Retired Teachers Association recently delivered several bags of school supplies to Locust Elementary School in Marengo.

Retired teachers collect school supplies during the months of September, October and November for students in a McHenry County school, based on a list provided by the school.

Mary Noe, MCRTA board member, stated, "We know there are students in many of our schools that don't have the supplies they need. This is something that retired teachers can do to help." Principal Suellen Lopez was on hand to accept the first delivery and was delighted to see the quantity of materials the retired teachers had contributed.

This project continues through November.
