Festival of the Voice coming to Raue Center for the Arts

Voices in Harmony and the Raue Center for the Arts will host the third Festival of the Voice, a celebration of choral music, on Sunday, Nov. 9.

With 18 ensembles from schools, churches and community groups, featuring more than 650 performers, the concerts will showcase the great number of choral singers of all ages. Each group will perform a selection of two or three pieces. There will be two concerts, each featuring different local choirs, at 3 and 7 p.m. at the Raue Center, 26 N. Williams St. in Crystal Lake.

Tickets are free but must be ordered in advance through the Raue Center box office at (815) 356-9212 between noon and 4 p.m. Saturday.

Concertgoers are encourage to bring item or cash donations for the Crystal Lake Food Pantry. Items from the pantry's "Top 20 List" can be viewed at www.clpantry.org.

On Sunday, Dec. 14, Voices in Harmony will offer its popular "Sing-Along Messiah." It is accompanied by a 25-piece professional orchestra, soloists and projections of calligraphy by Timothy Botts. The McHenry County College Chorus will supplement the onstage choir.
