'Grand Benefit Auction' to help launch Huntley Community Radio

Huntley Community Radio will hold its first "Grand Benefit Auction" from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the Huntley Park District Cosman Center, 12015 Mill St. Admission is free. In addition to the live and silent auctions, there will be live entertainment by Project 2 and refreshments. Proceeds will help the community radio station raise the money needed to go live as FM 101.5.

Live auction items include: "Be a NASCAR Driver for a Day," "Private Tour of the U.S. Capitol," "Soar High Over Napa Valley," "Journey to the Canadian Rockies," "Tour the New Orleans French Quarter," "Taste Craft Beers in Boston," "Le Cordon Bleu Cooking Class in Ottawa, Canada," "Dream Vacation to Ireland," and "Travel the Napa Valley Back Roads by Train."

Silent auction items include: Weber Grill including dinner for eight prepared by local police or firemen; Cancun paradise vacation, sightseeing flight for two over the Chicago lakefront, ReMax hot air balloon ride, weekend rental for two of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, deluxe foursomes at local golf courses, tickets to Woodstock Mozart Festival, or a tree planted in your yard.

There also will be watercolor paintings by local artists and a dinner hosted by Huntley Community Radio celebrities.
