McHenry resident wins Passport to History program

Clarise Miller of McHenry successfully navigated her way to all of four venues in this year's Passport to History program.

The Crystal Lake Historical Society, McHenry County Historical Society & Museum, village of Spring Grove and city of McHenry's Landmarks Commission collaborated during the month of June to offer the public a smorgasbord of historic helpings.

Miller made it to the Summer Sunday program at the Colonial Palmer House, a 1860 "base ball match" in Prairie Grove, the Spring Grove Hatchery and Petersen Farm in McHenry to qualify for the drawing.

She won the book "McHenry County in the Twentieth Century," donated by the McHenry County Historical Society.
