Mosey around preserve to raise funds for pet adoptions
Young At Heart Senior Pet Adoptions will hosts its "Mutt Mosey 2016" at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 15, at Fox River Marina, 26034 W. Roberts Road in Lake Barrington. Registration is $30 f through May 10; or $35 on race day, May 15.
Join the "Mutt Mosey" fundraiser walk, set to the theme of the 1960s. The one-mile "Mosey" around the Fox River preserve and marina raises the much-needed funds to save the lives of senior dogs and cats in area shelters. Your social, friendly dog is welcome to walk with you and does not need to be a senior or a Young at Heart alumni.
Last year, $34,000 was raised at the "Mutt Mosey," and this year they want to blow that away. Your support of this year's "Mutt Mosey" not only helps you give homeless senior pets a second chance, it will also help you build a cageless safe haven to help save more lives.
Young At Heart raises funds to save senior pets, because every senior pet would spend its twilight years surrounded by a loving family. But sadly, senior pets that end up in shelters often do not get that chance. Young At Heart is a rescue and safe haven for senior dogs and cats in northern Illinois.
Loving homes for adoptable senior pets are given to offer a peaceful permanent sanctuary life for those that are less adoptable. With your support, Young at Heart gives older dogs and cats another chance to enjoy the twilight of their lives through rescue, foster, adoption and sanctuary.
Register for the "Mutt Mosey" and you get an official Feelin' Groovy 2016 Mutt Mosey shirt, a righteous Feelin' Groovy 2016 Mutt Mosey sticker, plus top fundraiser prizes, best dressed prizes and a post-Mosey BBQ complete with vegan options.
The first-place Individual Fundraiser's Dog will be the King or Queen of the Mutt Mosey. The event also includes a 50/50 raffle, a bucket raffle, bake sale and more, all set to the fab tunes of the 1960s.
Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 individual fundraisers, top 3 team fundraisers, and top business team.
