MCC Shah Center to offer Microsoft Excel training classes
The majority of jobs today require basic Microsoft Excel skills with requiring more advanced skills. Businesses rely on Excel to create and formulate spreadsheets and analyze and share information to make more informed decisions. The McHenry County College Shah Center offers Excel training for basic and advanced learners. These courses are taught by computer training professionals using Microsoft approved materials.

The Excel 2013 series includes Basic, Intermediate and Advanced courses. The next series takes place from 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 24, 26, Feb. 7, 9, 28 and March 2. Use course code NTC S25 005 to register for the morning series. An evening series is scheduled from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 21, 23, March 7, 9, April 4 and 6. Use course code NTC S25 006 to register for the evening series. Cost is $479 per series. Registration for individual course levels is also available at $179 per class.
The Shah Center will offer a Basic class of the latest version, Excel 2016. This two-day, eight-hour class is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Fridays, Feb. 3 and 10. Cost is $179. Use course code NTC S30 004 to register.
More options are available for those with Excel experience and looking for additional specific skill instruction. Pivot tables are one of Excel's most powerful features. A pivot table allows you to extract the significance from a large, detailed data set. The Shah Center offers a Power Pivot Series that includes Excel Pivot Tables and Data Analysis with Power Pivot classes. This Power Pivot series is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, (Pivot Tables) and 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, (Power Pivot). Cost is $160. Use course code NTC S40 003 to register. You can also register for these courses individually. Excel Basic or equivalent experience is required for success.
Excel users who are interested in learning how to extract actionable organizational intelligence from your data and present it in a simple way may consider enrolling in Excel 2013: Dashboards, which teaches participants to create advanced formulas, automate workbook functionality, apply conditional logic, implement advanced charting techniques and more. Class takes place from 8 a.m. to noon March 14 and 16. Cost is $189. Use course code NTC S48 003 to register. To ensure your success, intermediate Excel experience is required.
The Excel 2013 Formulas and Functions Made Easy course is designed to streamline your work in Excel by teaching basic formulas and functions that every user needs to know. Class takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 16. Cost is $89. Use course code NTC C57 003 to register. Excel Basic or equivalent experience is required for success.
