Jacobs picks up 2 wins at Hononegah
The Jacobs boys basketball team bounced back from two losses on Saturday at Hononegah’s MLK Shootout to win twice on Monday in Rockton.
The Golden Eagles (8-9) started the day with a 57-35 win over DeKalb. Chris Orange led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points. Cameron Krutwig, Cory Boeckh and Reilly Peltier added 9 points each.
Jacobs then came back with an 85-69 victory over Mundelein. Orange led the way with 22 points. Boeckh had 15, Matt Bindi added 12 and Krutwig contributed 11 points to the win.
Harlem 55, Streamwood 43: Jacob McGlone and Cole Seger each had 13 points for Streamwood in this loss at the Lake Zurich MLK Shootout. Zach Harris added 10 points for the Sabres.
Streamwood 53, Lincoln-Way Central 51: Jacob McGlone scored 15 points to lead the Sabres (2-18) to a win in their final game at Lake Zurich. Zach Harris and Jacob Siewert added 9 points each in the win.
Bartlett 65, Oswego 47: Ryan DiCanio scored 17 points and Kevin Wantroba added 16 to lead the Hawks to a win in the semifinals of the MLK Shootout at Wheaton Warrenville South. Justin Busch added 13 points for Bartlett.
York 61, Bartlett 55: The Hawks fell to powerful York (18-2) in the championship game of the WW South MLK Shootout. Ryan DiCanio led Bartlett (13-8) with 22 points.
Illinois Lutheran 64, Westminster Christian 52: Sam Carani scored 19 points and Robert Kleczynski added 14 for Westminster in this loss at Concordia University. Paul Ellerbush chipped in 12 points for the Warriors (9-9).
