Oakton to offer food equipment repair training

Oakton Community College has partnered with an online firm to offer students training in the commercial food equipment repair technology field.

The Des Plaines-based school’s Office of Continuing Education is offering the online TechU24/7 program, which covers the fundamental concepts needed to become a commercial food equipment repair technician, officials said in a news release.

“We are excited to partner with TechU24/7 and enhance our online Continuing Education programs,” said Merrill L. Irving Jr., Oakton’s associate vice president of continuing education, training and workforce development, in the release. “This relationship will assist Oakton’s efforts to elevate our workforce and community with cutting-edge learning opportunities.”

The program can typically be completed in one month.
