The Special Consensus to perform Jan. 5 in Lombard

The Special Consensus is a Grammy-nominated bluegrass quartet formed in the Chicago area over 35 years ago. Renowned for spotless vocals and precision playing, music like theirs is the reason people come to love bluegrass. Their repertoire features traditional bluegrass standards, originals, and songs from other musical genres performed in the bluegrass format.

Special C is comprised of band leader and banjoist Greg Cahill, mandolin player Rick Faris, guitarist Dustin Benson, and bass player Dan Eubanks. International tours have brought the band to Canada, Europe, South America, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. They have also appeared on numerous National Public Radio programs and cable television shows, including The Nashville Network and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

Now Here's your chance to see them for the first time or see them once again in their eighth consecutive appearance at Maple Street Chapel in Lombard on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 3:00 PM.
