MCYO to hold fall concert Sunday at Prairie Ridge High School

The McHenry County Youth Orchestra will hold its fall concert, with the theme, “Discovery — Frontiers,” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Prairie Ridge High School, 6000 Dvorak Drive in Crystal Lake.
All three level orchestras will perform. The Prelude Orchestra, under the baton of Talia Pavia, will bring excitement to their repertoire, which will include Merle Isaac's “Apollo Suite.”
The Intermezzo Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Malovance, will perform the Fourth Movement from Dvorak's “New World Symphony,” an all-time favorite, among their repertoire of discovery.
The Symphony Orchestra, conducted by music director Eugene Power, will perform Verdi's “La Forza del Destino” and the beginning of Strauss' “Also Sprach” (think “2001, A Space Odyssey”) along with more pieces which will take the audience to new frontiers.
