Accretive Health manager recognized for training expertise

Elizabeth Hannon, an information technology training manager at Accretive Health, has been recognized as a 2013 Emerging Training Leader in the May/June issue of Training magazine. The magazine featured the Chicago resident for her work leading Accretive Health's front end revenue cycle technology implementation for one of its hospital clients.

The training involved more than 300 end users across four regions and multiple lines of business, including pre-registration, point of service registration, and financial counseling. In addition, internal and external training and operations staff members were trained across all front end lines of business.

Training magazine is a 48-year-old professional development magazine that advocates training and workforce development as a business tool. The Emerging Training Leaders awards program aims to recognize training professionals who are relatively new to the training/learning and development industry and who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, business savvy and training instincts.

“Elizabeth's strong sense of initiative, dedication to quality and keen problem solving skills set her apart from her peers in the training and development profession today,” said D'Anna Flowers, senior manager of information technology training at Accretive Health. “She is a niche player in every project she is associated with, even when it means she needs to step outside her comfort zone.”

The implementation noted in the nomination was Hannon's first large-scale training initiative, and she was able to overcome challenges such as an inexperienced project team, changes in scope and timeframe, and a new technology environment. She has been in the training field for five years.
