CL South 2nd at Asics: Crystal Lake South couldn’t get past Lincoln-Way East, losing to the tournament champions twice, but the Gators did go 3-2 and finish second at the Asics Preview tournament at Mother McAuley. South beat Hononegah, Marian Catholic and Chicago Christian, each in straight sets. Nicole Slimko had 34 kills and 13.5 blocks, Avalon Nero had 30 kills and 45 digs, Lindsey Murphy contributed 30 digs and 99 assists and Katie Meyers had 68 digs to lead the Gators (11-5).

Harvest wins at Westminster: Harvest Christian defeated Woodstock North, Morgan Park Academy, Chicago U-High and Westminster to win the Westminster Christian tournament. Sydney Doby (27 kills, 9 blocks, 9 aces, 9 digs), Jordan Sollars (29 kills, 17 assists, 15 digs, 13 aces), Katelyn Floyd (4 kills, 43 assists, 11 digs, 6 aces) and Chloe Corbett (6 kills, 18 digs, 11 aces) led the Lions (13-3). Elgin Academy finished fifth in the tournament, going 2-2. The Hilltoppers beat Kirkland Hiawatha and Waukegan and lost to Westminster and Woodstock North. Bridget Keslinke (25 digs, 20 kills, 15 aces), Claire Fugiel (22 digs, 17 kills, 5 aces) and Trennedy Kleczewski (44 assists, 11 digs, 10 kills) led the Hilltoppers (5-8).

At Maine East: South Elgin went 3-2 at the Maine East Blue Demon Invite, beating Warren, Deerfield and DeLaSalle but losing to Stagg and Riverside-Brookfield. Corbin Kehe (88 assists, 24 digs), Bri Ream (25 kills), Ashley Oandasan (23 kills), Rachel Murray (42 digs) and Adriana Loiacodo (17 kills) led the Storm (7-3-3).

At. St. Viator: Larkin went 3-2 at the St. Viator Invite, beating Carmel, Aurora Central Catholic and Von Stueben (by forfeit) and losing to Rock Falls and Conant. Olivia Kofie (38 kills, 12 blocks, 6 aces, 25 digs), Brianna Stewart (30 kills, 9 blocks, 26 digs, 3 aces, 8 assists), Alyssa McGhee (80 assists, 3 blocks, 4 kills, 18 digs), Anna Gaston (21 kills, 15 digs, 2 aces) and Natalie Gill (21 digs) carried the Royals (12-11).
