Get connected by attending Chicagoland’s largest senior expo.

More than 4,500 people are expected to attend the 17th annual Senior Lifestyle Expo for seniors, families, friends and caregivers. The two-day event, Aug. 21-22, benefits Holiday Meals on Wheels and will feature live entertainment, health and wellness info, interactive activities, educational seminars and 100-plus local organizations and companies.

“The Senior Idol” and “Connecting the Generations Through Writing Challenge” competitions also return, with talented amateurs ages 60 and older singing, dancing and entertaining their way onto the Drury Lane main stage to win cash prizes.

It also will feature the first Senior Lifestyle Expo Food Drive. The Agency on Aging has partnered with the “Stop Senior Hunger” campaign, a Comfort Keepers initiative to organize the first food drive at the expo.

Donation boxes for nonperishables will be at the Drury Lane-Oakbrook Terrace entrance during the two-day 2012 Senior Lifestyle Expo. For details, visit www.seniorlifestyleexpo.org/Nutrition_Insert2.pdf.
