McHenry League of Women Voters talks redistricting

The League of Women Voters of McHenry County will offer a program titled “Redistricting: What It Means to You” at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, in the Prairie Lodge at Sun City, 12880 Del Webb Blvd. in Huntley.

Recent remapping of congressional districts in Illinois has changed many of the choices citizens have for candidates in the November and future elections.

Do you know who the candidates are in your district? Come to this meeting sponsored by the Civics Committee of Del Webb and find out.

The speaker will be Mary Schaafsma, director of the League of Women Voters of Illinois.

Maps will be available and there will be time for questions after the presentation. The program is free. For details, visit mchenrycounty.il.lwvnet.org.

The League also will present the program on redistricting at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the Crystal Lake Public Library, 126 W. Paddock.
