Time for Kids to Get Their Shots and Physicals for School
Early summer is an ideal time to get required physicals and shots for school-aged children. By August, health care providers' schedules are often full. This year 6th and 9th graders are required to have the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine to enroll in school.
Walk-in clinics are available at the Lake County Health Department's North Chicago Community Health Center, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to noon. These clinics are for shots, physicals and ill children. The first 12 patients will be seen. The Center is located at 2215 14th Street in North Chicago. No appointment is necessary.
You can also schedule an appointment at one of the Health Department's six community health centers in Waukegan (2), North Chicago, Zion, Highland Park, and Round Lake Beach. Please bring insurance information and shot records. For more information, or to schedule appointments, please call: (847) 984-5200.
