COD fashion program gets $25,000 donation

The Fashion Merchandising and Design program at College of DuPage recently was named one of six recipients of funding from the FGI Foundation.

The donation, which comes on the heels of the dissolution of FGI, should be finalized by June, enabling the college to begin awarding merit- and need-based Fashion Group International of Chicago scholarships to students.

The college will receive $25,000 to be distributed over a period of five years to one or two students annually.

FGI's mission is to promote educational programs devoted to fashion and the study of fashion-related businesses. While the foundation may be dissolving, the subsequent scholarships this gift provides will further the group's work over the next several years.
