McHenry group look for help with seniors

With the new year, have you ever considered making one of your resolutions volunteering and giving back to your community? The Faith in Action program serves all seniors, age 60 and older, who live in McHenry County or Sun City and they offer many ways that you can volunteer to help a senior remain independent in their own home.

Provide the “gift of a lift” to a doctor’s appointment or to many other life-enriching destinations. Visit with a senior in their home to prevent loneliness and let them know someone in the community cares. Help with minor home repairs or seasonal yard work.

Just an hour of your time, whether it is an hour a week or an hour a month, can make a real difference in the life of a senior who may even be your neighbor.
