ECC’s Dumoulin recognized by WBCA
Elgin Community College sophomore and Hampshire graduate Cassie Dumoulin earned another award Thursday, this one on a national level.
Dumoulin was named to the honorable mention All-America team for junior colleges by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Only 16 JUCO player nationwide were awarded honorable mention status. The WBCA’s All-America team consists of 10 players.
“It’s a real honor for Cassie and for Elgin Community College,” said Spartans coach Jerry McLaughlin.
Dumoulin led the Spartans to a school-record 25-7 season and the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference championship. She averaged 22.1 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, 4 assists and 3.6 steals.
The two-time ISCC player of the year scored 1,393 points in her ECC career.
