How they got here: No. 2 St. Viator d. No. 14 Highland Park 50-37 and No. 10 Rolling Meadows 78-54 to win the Meadows regional; No. 3 Mundelein d. No. 16 Zion-Benton 70-57 and No. 11 Lake Zurich 82-65 to win the Zion-Benton regional.

Postesason history: St. Viator won its fourth regional and second in three years - the 2010 3A supersectional qualifier was the first in school history to advance beyond a sectional semifinal. Mundelein won its 10th regional and reached the sectional final last year.

Outlook: Getting into a track meet with Mundelein's high-octane offense isn't a problem for Viator (64 ppg) as long as it doesn't lose track of one of the keys to breaking the single-season school record of 24 wins set two years ago. "They have a ton of weapons and it's going to be a fun game because we both want to get out and go," Howland said. "The big key is who will slow down who in transition and make each other work to score. Defensively we have to make them work for everything they can get." Viator defensive stopper Forde will start on Knar, who dropped 38 on Lake Zurich on 13-for-21 shooting and 6-for-9 on 3s, with Arogundade matching up with the versatile O'Brien (11 rpg, 4 apg). "Their kids are skilled and athletic," Dick Knar said. "They'll be a matchup problem for us big-time." Morris and freshman backup point guard Mark Falotico didn't play Friday with ankle injuries but have returned to practice and Howland hopes they'll be ready to go. Junior backup Mayo Arogundade handled the point against Meadows and had 6 assists. Viator has won 10 straight since a 59-48 loss at Lake Forest, a team Mundelein beat twice in the North Suburban Lake.

Advancement: The winner plays for the sectional title at 7:30 p.m. Friday against xxxxxx, a xx-xx winner over xxxxxx in Tuesday's semifinal.
