Watch for new policys to apply to snowmobilers this year

Submitted by Illinois Association of Snowmobile Clubs

The Illinois Association of Snowmobile Clubs reminds snowmobilers of the new policy from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

It will no longer be sending out snowmobile registration renewal notices.

The IDNR has gone to a paperless format, eliminating the postcard form snowmobilers have received in the past.

There will be no grace period for unregistered snowmobiles; the IDNR will be issuing tickets.

Snowmobilers may register by phone (866) 867-3542 or online at www.dnr.illinois.gov/recreation/snowmobile/Pages/information.aspx.

The Illinois Association of Snowmobile Clubs and its members work with the IDNR and private landowners to provide safe snowmobile riding in Illinois.

All snowmobile owners are urged to join a club so that they will be informed of changes in snowmobile laws and trail riding conditions.
