Take your jeep on ride to collect Toys for Tots

Join the first Jeeps on the Run for Toys For Tots event on Sunday, Dec. 8. They will be collecting toys for children of all ages at venues along the Fox River from Hoffman Estates to McHenry. It is an all-ages event; kids are encouraged to join in.

Cost is $35 per jeep, which will include a flag for the Jeep (for the first 30 to join) as well as two T-shirts for the event and deals at each venue. Additional T-shirts can be purchased for $9 each.

All gifts and proceeds will be donated to Toys For Tots. Each registered Jeep should bring an unwrapped toy donation.

The event will start at 10 a.m. at the Assembly American Bar and Cafe, 2570 Hassell Road in Hoffman Estates, with registration, T-shirts handed out, and flags on the Jeeps. They will be leaving at 11 a.m. and heading to the Texan BBQ, 101 N. Main St. in Algonquin, then heading to Broken Oar Bar and Grill, 614 Rawson Bridge Road in Port Barrington, followed by the Twisted Moose, 2616 Schaid Court in McHenry, and ending at Chain O’ Lakes Brewing Company, 3425 Pearl St in McHenry.

There are five stops total. At each location, they have already placed toy bins for the public to drop off new, unwrapped toys. They will be raffling off prizes for the participants at each location as well. Many local and nationwide companies have donated to this inaugural event.
