Crystal Lake’s Bethany Art Series welcomes piano duo in concert

The Bethany Art Series continues at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 76 W. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake. Mark Edwards and Karin Redekopp Edwards, the husband and wife piano duo, will perform a concert of works from Bach to Gershwin and beyond.

In addition to performing together at one piano, each pianist will also perform solo pieces, including works by Chopin and Brahms.

The duo has performed throughout Canada and the U.S. in recital and as guest artists with orchestra. They also have performed in England and completed a three-week tour of Japan and Korea. Mark Edwards is organist at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church in St. Charles and maintains a private piano, organ and harpsichord studio in Wheaton. He holds degrees from Eastman School of Music and Indiana University. Karin Redekopp Edwards is professor or piano at Wheaton College and holds degrees from the University of Manitoba and Indiana University.
