Benefit planned to aid family of Wonder Lake woman

Submitted by Butts Family fundraiser

A benefit for the Wonder Lake family of Jennifer R. Butts will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7, at the Woodstock Moose Lodge, 406 Clay St. Woodstock. The dinner will be from 4 to p.m., followed by raffle prizes, including 50/50, from 6 to 8 p.m., and a live band from 8 to 10 p.m. Admission will be $7 per person, free for children 5 and younger.

Jennifer R. Butts, 40, passed away on July 26 from a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. She leaves a husband, Darwin G. Butts and three children, Alexandra P. Mineau, 20, Samantha N. Mineau, 18, and Jackson G. Butts, 9.

Jennifer was the most kind and generous woman who would put all other people’s needs before her own. She donated most of her time to local children, animals, charities, schools, and church. She was involved with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Jacobson Park Girls Softball, Wonder Lake Boys Baseball, Animal Outreach, and other local charities.

In addition to her work in the community, she was involved in the fundraiser for Hollie’s Heart, which raised more than $100,000. Registered with Gift of Hope, Jennifer was an organ donor where she saved six lives by donating seven organs and allowing her to live on. This also allowed her niece, Hollie, 10, who is in need of a heart transplant, to be moved to the top of the waiting list.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoyed hunting, camping, reading, mentoring children, listening to others, and helping them solve their problems. She was planning to return to college this fall to pursue a culinary degree.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated for her children. Please make donations to the Mineau/Butts children’s school fund and mail to: 8710 Burton Road, Wonder Lake, IL 60097 or bring to the benefit.
