ECC’s Dumoulin national player of week
Elgin Community College sophomore Cassie Dumoulin has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association’s women’s basketball national player of the week.
In three games last week, all ECC wins, the Hampshire product scored 84 points, had 16 rebounds, 8 assists and 14 steals.
The 5-foot-9 Dumoulin had 19 points in a 56-46 win over Morton, exploded for a career-high 37 points in a 76-41 blowout of Lake County and then came back with 28 points in a 76-63 triumph over McHenry County College.
In her ECC career, Dumoulin has now scored 1,115 career points in 50 games, a 22.3 points-per-game average.
ECC is 15-6 on the season and tied for first place in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference with a 7-1 record.
