Lake Co. YMCA spring registration begins Feb. 13
It's time to think spring – and summer – at Lake County Family YMCA.
Registration for the wide variety of quality spring programs for the whole family offered at its Vernon Hills and Waukegan branches opens up to the general public on Feb. 13. It's the community's opportunity to sign up for springtime activities that encourage the four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility at Central Lake YMCA, 700 Lakeview Parkway in Vernon Hills, and Northern Lake YMCA, 2000 Western Ave. in Waukegan.
Spring fitness classes feature some exciting new offerings including ZumbAtomics for kids, Piloxing and Yogalates. Community members also will be able to register for other activities at the Y such as family swim lessons, martial arts, music lessons, learning CPR and little chef's classes beginning Feb. 13.
Be sure to sign up by Feb. 19 to avoid higher late-registration fees for some classes.
Meanwhile, registration for Lake County Family YMCA's summer youth camps is under way with reduced fees for those who sign up by the end of February.
From swimming to craft projects and outdoor education, ACA-accredited Y Day Camps offer a variety of fun and educational activities under the supervision of counsellors certified in first aid, CPR and AED. Campers will build self-confidence, discover new skills, develop a respect for the outdoors and make new friends. They are divided into two age groups: grades K-4 and grades 5-8.
