Free health screenings continue at Lake Co. YMCA in early 2012

Rosalind Franklin University Health System's mobile health unit, Community Care Connection (formerly the CareCoach), has scheduled stops at both Lake County Family YMCA branches in January and February. Blood pressure, blood sugar/diabetes and cholesterol screenings plus BMI (body mass index) and waist measurements will be available to persons of all ages free of charge. In addition, those with questions about healthy eating can get answers from the registered nurse onboard.

The Community Care Connection will visit Northern Lake YMCA, 2000 Western Ave., Waukegan, on the second Monday of January and February (Jan. 9 and Feb. 13) from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

It will be at Central Lake YMCA, 700 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills, on the third Monday of January and February (Jan. 16 and Feb. 20), also from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Note: The Community Care Connection takes its last patient 15 minutes before the close of each site, if space is still available.
