CL South’s Robles 4th at state

Crystal Lake South senior Nick Robles, the defending Class 3A state boys golf champion, shot a 74 Saturday to end the state tournament in Bloomington with a 2-day total of 151, which was good for third place.

Lake Forest’s Joe Willis won the individual title with a 144 and Charlie Netzel of Lyons Township was second with a 149.

Huntley’s Trent Craig finished in 53rd place with a 165 and Jacobs’ Sean Kozak was 76th with a 169.

Lake Forest won the team title with a 612. Lyons was second and Loyola third.

Class 2A: Burlington Central sophomore Matt Weber finished 13th in the Class 2A tournament with a 153 after shooting a 78 Saturday. St. Edward senior Mike Holevas had a 77 Saturday to finish at 160 and in a tie for 27th place.

Jaret Brewer of downstate Marion won a playoff over Woodstock Marian Central’s Luke Waggoner to win the individual title and Belleville Althoff claimed the team crown.

Class 1A: Elgin Academy junior Andrew Dykun shot a 94 Saturday to finish at 178 and in a tie for 77th place in the Class 1A tournament.
