COD McAninch Arts Center Receives $24,300 Illinois Arts Council Grant

College of DuPage has received notification of a $23,400 grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, to support funding in part of the McAninch Arts Center FY 2012 performance season.

This IAC grant will provide general operating support for the MAC's FY 2012 Gahlberg Gallery exhibits, resident professional ensemble productions by The Buffalo Theatre Ensemble and New Philharmonic, and a variety of additional events, community engagements and outreach activities.

The MAC's designation as an Illinois Arts Council Partner in Excellence requires a demonstration of superior arts programming, outstanding management and fiscal stability. As a designee, the MAC is also expected to engage underserved and multicultural audiences, and to include significant numbers of Illinois artists in its performance schedule.

The MAC has engaged more than 1.5 million audience members since opening in 1986. Each year, 10,000 elementary and secondary youth attend SchoolStage presentations. In addition, more than 150 volunteers provide ushering and front-of-house services for 400 annual performances.
