Volunteers teach children with disabilities to swim in Carpentersville, Elgin, Woodstock

Experienced swim instructors are needed to help children with disabilities learn to swim in Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association programs.

Volunteer instructors will assist children with water adjustment and basic swim skills in an eight-week session beginning the week of Oct. 3 and continuing through Dec. 1. Lessons take place in the early evening in Carpentersville on Mondays, Crystal Lake on Tuesdays, Elgin on Wednesdays and Woodstock on Thursdays.

A volunteer is also needed for NISRA's Adapted Boccia program for participants with a physical disability. This competitive sport program will meet on Thursday evenings in Crystal Lake beginning Oct. 6. Volunteer training is provided.
