Yamato Drummers of Japan Oct. 21 at the MAC

Yamato – The Drummers of Japan bring their music and heritage to the Mainstage of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, for an 8 p.m. performance Friday, Oct. 21.

Performing various works of Taiko drumming, group members have brought the culture of a style created more than 1,500 years ago to audiences around the world. Hailing from Nara, Japan, Yamato's thunderous sound is elegant while its performers gracefully glide from between tradition and pure showmanship.

This presentation is supported by the Performing Arts Fund, a program of Arts Midwest funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Illinois Arts Council, General Mills Foundation and Land O'Lakes Foundation.

Tickets to Yamato's Oct. 21 performance are $38 for adults, $36 for seniors and $28 for College of DuPage students and youth.
