Steady Spellman spurs Stevenson
Windy conditions at White Deer Run didn’t faze Jack Spellman and his Stevenson golf teammates Thursday.
Spellman earned medalist honors with a 2-over 38, leading the Patriots (158) to victory over both Vernon Hills (170) and Antioch (183).
Reed Aren added a 39 for Stevenson, which also counted Nick Geissler’s 40 and Tim Kim’s 41.
Alex Leigeber led host Vernon Hills with a 39. Connor Dickman of the Cougars carded a 41.
Antioch’s low score belonged to Grant Smith, who had a 45.
Libertyville d. McHenry d. Grayslake North: At McHenry County Club, the host Warriors improved to 5-0, shooting a 165 that included medalist A.J. Hecht#146;s 38 in the Fox Valley Conference crossover.Grayslake North (192) was led by Christian DiBerardino#146;s 47. The Knights fell to 0-5.Cary-Grove d. Grayslake Central: At Cary Country Club, Justin Kinney#146;s 36 led the Trojans (156) past the visiting Rams (172).
Cody Stover#146;s 41 paced Grayslake Central.
