Raue Center giving opportunities to express through art

Submitted by Raue Center for the Arts

If you’re looking for something fun and creative to do this summer, Raue Center for the Arts has you covered. Starting in June, Raue Center will offer two great programs for children that encourage the arts — Sage Studio and FOCUS 2011.

Sage Studio classes include Theatre/Comedy Improv, Storytelling Series, Film Bootcamp, and Sculpture Classes and Workshops. They are now taking applications. Camps run June through July. No experience is necessary to participate.

FOCUS 2011 showcases the talents of our community’s youth by “empowering today’s youth and digging into their future.” Whether dance, poetry, fashion or painting, FOCUS 2011 allows you to express yourself and share your works of art at this year’s talent show. Categories are visual arts, performing arts, and fashion. The big event takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 23 and the show is open to the public.

Both Sage Studio classes and FOCUS 2011 will take place in the theater at 26 N. Williams St. in downtown Crystal Lake.

Contact Kate Wilford at kwilford@rauecenter.org with questions. Visit rauecenter.org to download an application or you can visit the box office at 26 N. Williams St. in downtown Crystal Lake. Openings are limited; sign up soon.
