Softball/Fox Valley roundup

Sophomore Lindsay Efflandt ran her record to 23-1 Friday as the Cary-Grove softball team defeated Grayslake North 3-0. The top-ranked Trojans will carry a 26-1 record in next week’s postseason.

Sara Markelonis had a double for Cary-Grove, while Emma Gaulke (2B), Eleni Polites and Taylor Dunne each had 2 hits.

Huntley 5, Grayslake Central 0: Brittany Koss (HR), Randi Peterson (2B, 2 RBI), Kelsey Hagan (RBI) and Nikki DeMarco (2-for-3) led Huntley (15-16) to a Fox Valley crossover win. Taylor Larson was the winning pitcher with a 3-hitter.

St. Charles North 9, Streamwood 0: Kaylie Jambor had a double for the Sabres (3-24, 2-17) in this Upstate Eight loss.

Jacobs 7, Johnsburg 1: Marissa Lombardo (10-5) tossed a 4-hitter for the Golden Eagles (19-11). Alyssa Lach (2 home runs), and Lombardo (3-for-4) led the offense.

Marist 13, Bartlett 0: Bartlett (16-14) was no-hit by Marist’s Teagen Walsh. Tori Burke was the losing pitcher for the Hawks.

Burlington Central 5, West Aurora 2: The Rockets (16-15) notched a big win over West Aurora and Haley Albamonte homered, Bekah Harnish had a double and Emily Bell drove in a run. Rebecca Roscher (8-5) was the winning pitcher.
